Paul will begin his first season coaching the
varsity crews in Fall '08. Last year (Paul's first with the club), he acted as an assistant for the novice crew. Paul's exceptional rowing knowledge have made hime a valuble asset to the club. We are glad he can
continue to help out at ODURC.
Paul attended the US Naval Academy, earning
a bachelor's degree in physics. While there he rowed Lightweight Crew
for 4 years, facing many other teams in the EARC.
He is currently a Lieutenant in the US Navy
working in the area. He is qualified in submarines, and recently
returned from a 3-year tour in Guam onboard USS City of Corpus Christi.
His hobbies: "I ride my road bike often,
and enjoy most other sports. I also like breathing, sleeping, eating,
sleeping, and snooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrre. Huh! Where am I?"

Kevin Hammond will be entering his second coaching year with ODURC where he will continue to work with the novice team after producing superior resulsuts last year.
Hammond began rowing while in HighSchool in his native, Zimbabwe, where he excelled in both sculling and sweep rowing.
Hammond started his rowing career at ODU in the Spring of 2005 and stroked the Men's Varsity 4+ to many victories, most notably: 1st at the CAA Championship in 2006, 2nd at the Knecht Cup in 2007, 3rd at the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Championships in 2006, and many more.
Kevin holds a US Rowing Level 2 Coaching Certification. He is currently studying Accounting at ODU. In his spare time he enjoys going really fast on his tricked-out jet ski.
